Healing sentences —also called “soul sentences”— are short, direct, first-person statements that the client pronounces before the representative of a system member during the constellation. Their function is to name, acknowledge, and reorder.
They are not positive affirmations or mantras: they are statements that acknowledge what is (“Yes. That’s how it was”), return burdens (“This that I carried was yours. I return it to you with respect”), restore order (“You are the elder, I am the younger”), or name belonging (“You also belong. You have your place in my heart”).
The healing sentence only works when spoken from the correct place: with respect, without complaint, without moral approval of the facts. The voice changes, the body reorders itself, the field responds. If the sentence is not yet true for the client, the constellator waits —nothing is forced—.
The site includes a compendium of Hellinger’s healing sentences as worked by Daniela in her sessions (see “Keep reading”).
Clinical Example
A woman cannot forgive her absent father. The constellator does not ask her to “forgive”: she proposes a simpler sentence, “Dad, I know you were there. I know you left. I take it as it is. I am your daughter.” The sentence does not approve the absence; it acknowledges the facts. Peace comes later, without being forced.

Evidence and Contemporary Voices
The 'healing sentence' in Bert Hellinger's Family Constellations lacks rigorous academic research in systemic psychology or contemporary family therapy. There are no controlled clinical studies or systematic reviews in databases such as PubMed, PsycINFO, or Scopus validating its efficacy for reordering family systems or resolving transgenerational trauma. In the Hellingerian sphere, it is described as phenomenological statements to restore 'orders of love,' but without a testable hypothetical-deductive model (Ortiz-Talló & Gross, 2010). Researchers in systemic family therapy, such as Minuchin or Bowen, do not reference this technique, prioritizing evidence-based interventions like attachment or family narratives (Yehuda et al., 2016, for epigenetic trauma). Institutions like the Spanish Association of Clinical Cognitive-Behavioral Psychology (AEPC) classify constellations as pseudotherapy without empirical backing.

Notes and Open Debates
The 'healing phrase' technique is based on subjective observations and group suggestion, without placebo effect controls or falsifiability, which places it in the realm of pseudoscience according to critiques from psyciencia.com and Fundación PSIF (2023). Studies like Ortiz-Talló and Gross (2010) acknowledge limitations in empirical validation, and independent reviews document ethical risks due to lack of professional specialization.

If you recognize this dynamic in your own history, a Family Constellation can reveal where it comes from and what movement brings it into order. Daniela accompanies each case with respect.
